(TGI) Remix Sunday - The Strange Case of "E. River Mural"

Did you ever consider a vispo/college so hopeless that you filed it away and forgot about it completely? Then you stumbled upon it again and spent too much time thinking you could "fix" it?

That is the case with my "E. River Mural" (originally untitled). This gut-and-salvage job might well go beyond the remix concept. This is essentially a new piece built on the battered, de-collaged ruins of the original. I seldom work on a piece to this extent, preferring to trust in spontaneity over revision and that if one piece goes terribly awry another is coming along shortly.

"Varieties of" hopefully will become an artist's book or a perhaps just a series that documents in the form of a deconstructing "field guide" or scientific pamphlet varieties of visual-textual organisms. These organisms are neo-concrete creations and are described with cut-up text and asemics. This is a concept I'm using to provide minimal constraints for the effort. But they can be anything anyone wants them to be.

Re-Mix Friday: Resurrecting the Unresurrectable with Cheap Tricks

Back by popular demand are my weekly attempts to remix work that was "held back." These are experiments that went awry, visions that turned into nightmares and/or things (if they were previously posted) generated little or no interest. By "remix" I mean efforts to revive DOA pieces through various software chicanery, which usually only makes things worse. The Internet gives us the opportunity to share things never meant to be shared.
